Stockport’s food scene continues to progress forward with the opening of The Mekong Cat. Located on Lower Hillgate, near the entrance to the Underbanks this restaurant’s main focus is on creating real and authentic Southeast Asian Noodles.
It’s not hipster, nor fashionable it is about creating something real that connects to the heritage of the owners. Good food always comes from people who create it out of passion and it is clear that is what is happening here.
The space itself is designed to feel easy and comfortable so that the main show is the food itself. Their goal is to introduce a new type of food to the pallets of the surrounding area and beyond – and we think they absolutely will. There is disability access on site and the best place to park is around the corner in front of Agapanthus Interiors.
The photos below show Beef Pho cooked for 15 hours and a Vegan King Oyster Mushroom Bahn Mi with cashew and mushroom pate, pickled carrots and Mooli. The pictures speak for themselves! We didn’t get chance to try to the food but the cacophony of smells were to die for!
Next time you are heading in to Stockport makes sure you visit The Mekong Cat and show them your support – a follow on social media will help them too!
