Tour of Britain • Heads to Stockport
Stockport Chosen for Cycle Route
Britain’s largest professional cycle race will be coming back to Manchester for the first time in over 15 years.
The Tour of Britain is a multi-stage cycling event that takes place on selected British roads. The aim of course is for the team to finish the stages in the fastest times.
The routes are often changed to allow for more people to experience the excitement of road cycling.
The 8th and final stage will start in Altrincham before meandering through Stockport and concluding in Manchester city centre. As the 8th stage is the end of the race the winners will be announced in Manchester with ceremonies to follow.
Key Stockport areas that will see the race include Bramhall, Hazel Grove, High Lane, Marple & Romiley.
Interactive maps of the route are set to be released very soon so keep your eye on Tour of Britain.
