SK 1 Records | Music, Coffee & Cake

SK1 Records

Opening last week SK1 Records have joined the ever growing number of independent cafes and shops on little under bank. Immersing themselves with the cool and edgy vibe of the stores that surround it, SK1 Records have created a shop that sells vinyls, CDs and tapes. For them it is all about the music but with a flash of coffee and cake on the side.

Sourcing cakes from neighbouring cafe Hillgate Cakery and coffee from Buxton Roastery SK1 Records have managed to use local businesses to help their own. It is great to see Stockport businesses supporting each other.

Upon entry the focus on sound is clear. You are greeted by the authentic sound of a record player filling the room with chilled vibes. The owners choice to use black and white as a key theme within the cafe is a gentle nod to the traditional look of an old school vinyl.

One of the coolest features about SK1 Records is its mezzanine style seating area. The cafe is split between two distinct levels that create a great sense of space. On the top level there is a small seating area that has a couple of tables and a laid back sofa. If you love to people watch as much as we do, it is a great place to sit and watch local shoppers come in, browse and discuss their music tastes.

We absolutely loved the relaxed atmosphere within SK1 records and would defo recommend paying them a visit. Whether you listen to vinyl or not, SK1 Records is a great place to stop for a cheeky coffee and listen to the world go by.
