Stockport Successful in Commonwealth Games Bid

After a lengthy process Stockport has successfully gained the rights and support of the Commonwealth Games governing body to hold the event right here in town. The events will be spread out across the borough and due to some sports grounds restraints some sites in Manchester City Centre may need to be used. 

The governing body of the games told us “Stockport is on the up and why not let them host this special event, I mean imagine rowing in the Mersey and the opening ceremonies at Edgeley Park”
